Playcrafters Barn Theatre is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Every dollar we receive goes right back into making the theatre experience available to all within our community.
The monies collected from tickets sales are only a small part of the finances needed to run our organization. While ticket income covers our day-to-day operating expenses, other revenue sources are needed for maintenance and capital improvement projects.
Playcrafters operates a variety of annual, ongoing and determinate fund-raising initiatives to keep our equipment and facilities in a state of good repair.
Our Members and Patrons are our core constituency. Through membership fees and more significant annual tax-deductible donations, Playcrafters is able to conduct on-going maintenance and upkeep to our facilities. For more information about becoming an active Playcrafters Member, visit the Join Us page. Patron donations are welcomed by mail and gratefully acknowledged in our program and lobby displays. Visit our Contact page for our mailing address.
Our tireless Fundraising Committee volunteers work year-long to prepare for this annual fund-raiser. Held in our Lobby during our November production, Mrs. Claus' Cupboard offers a wide selection of Christmas themed crafts, gifts, and pre-decorated trees for sale to the general public at greatly reduced prices.
The core mission of Playcrafters is to make the theater experience available to all. While we are a non-for-profit corporation ourselves, to accomplish our mission we stage benefit performances of our shows for other charitable organizations. These benefit shows are sold at a flat rate of $600. Particpating not-for-profits can sell tickets to these performances themselves and use the funds for their own programs. Many participants donate the tickets to those in the community who may not have regular opportunities to attend live theatrical performances. For more information on how to take part in our Benefit Program, please contact our office.
The recently completed campaign to finance the replacement of all our auditorium seating is an example of a limited-time fund-raising initiative. Through generous donations from individual theater-goers, corporate sponsors and philanthropic foundations within our community we were able to successfully fund this major capital improvement.
As we prepare to celebrate 40 years in our facility in 2010, the Board of Directors has developed a list of major capital improvements with a goal of completion in time for the anniversary.
We hope Playcrafters can continue to rely on the generous support of its benefactors and hope that those new to Playcrafters consider supporting our worthwhile endeavours.
