Seeking 6–8 actors.
All roles are male-presenting.
Ages listed are for the characters and are approximate.
Actors should be aware that the characters in the play are gay men, and the script includes romantic relationships and physical affection between characters that are integral to the story.
Some roles may be doubled.
Character Breakdown
Peter (around 30) — A young gay man from Chicago struggling with his luck in romance.
Howard (60s) — One half of Peter’s loving found-family “parents.”
Jack (60s) — Howard’s husband and Peter’s other found-family parent.
JD (middle aged) — A dinner guest with a strong personality.
Mike (middle aged) — JD’s partner.
Marty (30s–40s) — Slightly older than Peter.
Officer (20s) — Younger than Peter, confident and studly.
Dick (around 30) — Approximately Peter’s age.
Synopsis
Peter, a young gay man from Chicago, has been having bad luck with romance. When his found-family “parents” begin matchmaking during a dinner party, a classic romantic comedy unfolds with unexpected connections, awkward moments, and plenty of heart.
